Infants & Toddlers
Infants (6 weeks to 12 months)
Early Childhood Programs For Infants
While offering exposure to variety of early learning experiences in music, art, language and positive human interaction, our objective is always to love and care for your infant in an encouraging environment. Our infant early childhood programs are based on established brain research, which has proven the astonishing ability of the infant brain to learn receptively, long before beginning to verbally express what he or she has learned. We deliver a rich language environment which we know is a key component of early literacy skills. Teachers also expose infants to colors, numbers and counting, shapes, and other principal elements that build a foundation for impending mathematical abilities. Our teachers read a number of books to our infants throughout the day. We provide plenty of outdoor learning and play time during which infants are exposed to aspects of nature and are provided with fun music and movement activities to build their gross motor skills.
We use the Learn Every Day for Infants curricula by Kaplan, which puts focus on and includes: Sign language, active listening and talking, exposure to rich vocabulary and counting, and activities to promote creativity, learning the world around them, and physical development. Teachers promote parent engagement by sharing the lessons they work on in class with our parents, and by giving our parents progress reports and ideas to reinforce infant developmental milestones and learning at home.
Toddlers (1s and 2s)
Early Childhood Programs For Toddlers
We embrace multisensory learning experiences. In a constructive and encouraging environment, our goal is continually to reach the needs of our toddlers who by nature are curious and active learners. We always provide a rich environment full of language, and the children enjoy stories read to them throughout the day. We are building our toddlers early literacy skills and fostering the development of language, while the children explore the world through play. Our teachers understand the necessity for consistency in a child’s life. The daily structure of our classrooms allows for both active and quiet learning and imaginative play. Our school is a strong advocate of positive reinforcement and our teachers’ classroom management strategies will always be based on positive encouragement. Our toddlers are exposed to introductory math concepts, age appropriate science activities, and fun art projects along with directed activities to motivate sharing and social emotional development and to build both fine and gross motor skills. Toddlers enjoy an assortment of fun daily music and movement activities where we incorporate music from around the world. Additionally, children will be provided several opportunities for outdoor playtime each day, during which we promote the investigation of the natural environment and learning from nature.
We teach using the Active Learning for Toddlers curricula in conjunction with Learn Every Day for Infants and Toddlers curricula by Kaplan.
