Us
The Village Academy was originally founded in 1981 as Children's Village. Through 30 successful years we have grown to a 4-acre campus that provides over 17,000 square feet of educational space for the nurturing and development of your child - academically, physically, and socially. Village Academy North brings the excellence of The Village Academy to North St Augustine and the rapidly growing Palencia area and US-1 corridor. Many of our parents come from the World Golf Village area because they want they best for their children – and we have won the Best of St Augustine award 4 years in a row.
We are particularly proud of our staff, which is the most highly trained and qualified of any child care facility in St Johns County. We only hire dedicated, caring professionals because we know we have to earn your trust every day.

Babette Weaver is the Owner and Director of The Village Academy. Babette taught in public school for eight years prior to founding The Village Academy, originally Children's Village, in 1981. Her educational credentials include a B.S. from Northwestern University and a Masters in Education from UNF. Babette holds teacher certifications in Deaf Education; Elementary Education; and Elementary Education Administration and Supervision. She also has the Advanced Level Florida Child Care and Education Program Director Credential. |
